One Man and His Beard releases library campaign song and goes on campaign tour!

Serial musical campaigner One Man and his Beard is to release a new single to highlight the struggle to keep the nations libraries open.

He says that “This song was written in order to highlight the many closures and cuts planned in the libraries in the UK, there over 400 libraries currently under threat.”

He calls the issue one “close to his heart” and the song is now available to download from iTunes.

One Man and His Beard will be doing a “We Need Libraries” tour to coincide with the release and gain publicity. The first gig is at the Ram and Shackle in Manchester on the 30th of January. Any venues who are interested in booking One Man and His Beard for this tour can contact him on

This effort is the latest in a long line of campaign efforts. He has previously sung about the need to save 6 Music from closure, bring back Top of the Pops and save bees from extinction.
