Forever Autumn – Ill build my wings to escape – Track Review

As a journalism student, I must point out the “Ill” in “Ill build my wings to escape” is missing an apostrophe, but literary mishaps of the band aside, Forever Autumn have succeeded in making a good, solid single – used to promote the soon-to-be-released EP.

The song has everything that a metalcore/hardcore song should have. Melodic dual guitars. Melodic singing. Inward higher pitched screams. Outward lower pitched screams. Low tuned riffs. Double bass pedal. Atmospheric Synth and anthemic shouting.

The ingredients are there, but the band still had the job to put them together to make a lovely, scrumptious meal of deadly screams and riffs.

And sticking with the food metaphore, both the track and band are clearly an acquired taste, but the Facebook page called ‘Metalcore’ has 157 thousand ‘likes’; I’m sure the band’s upcoming EP won’t struggle – hopefully the quality of recording will be a little better.
